AS W/IN SO W/OUT is a sculptural exploration of tension. Between interior and exterior, intimacy and distance, softness and structure. The works examine the balance between opposing forces through material contrasts.
Each piece exists in a state of suspension, where delicacy meets industrial weight and quiet strain allows space for transformation. Disentangled from their utilitarian origins, the materials are recast into forms that feel simultaneously fragile and imposing, revealing the complexity of containment, vulnerability, and resilience. An emotional weight suspended in stillness.
Presented as a solo exhibition at D2 Art Westwood during Frieze LA Gallery Week, AS W/IN SO W/OUT reflects an ongoing inquiry into equilibrium and the poetics of pressure. Through sculptural language, it examines how opposing forces—seen and unseen—shape the body, memory, and our sense of safety.
